What is maaser kesafim — giving a tenth of one's income to tzedakah?
Maaser kesafim refers to giving a tenth of one's income to tzedakah, as mentioned in [2] where it is written: “aser te'aser”. According to [1], it is even recommended to set aside more than a tenth, nearly a fifth, to give to tzedakah, in order to reveal the blessing in the remainder of the salary.
