Torah study unites a Jew with Hashem by allowing the divine soul to be absorbed into the Unity of the light of the En Sof [4]. This is achieved when one studies Torah "for its own sake", enabling the study to ascend into the ten sefirot which shine in the worlds of Yetzirah and Asiyah, where the actual light of the En Sof is clothed and united [3]. Through meditation on the greatness of the En Sof, one can govern the heart and rule the nature, bringing the divine light into the mind [1]. The soul of a Jew is likened to a flame that intrinsically seeks to be parted from the wick and rise upward, towards Hashem [5].
