What does Chassidus teach about the unique quality of the Jewish soul?
Chassidus teaches that the Jewish soul is a part of G-d above [4], consisting of five parts, with yechida being the highest [3]. The soul is given to the individual from On High, but it is up to the person to refine it [1]. The yechida aspect of the soul emerges through avoda, or divine service, and allows for a binding of the soul to G-d [2]. This unique quality of the Jewish soul is a fundamental principle of Chassidus [5].
