Maaser Calculator מחשבון מעשר

Calculate your maaser (10%) or chomesh (20%) instantly: income, minus the expenses of earning it, times your measure. Free, private, sourced from the Rambam and the Talmud.

Calculating maaser kesafim — the Jewish tithe of 10% (or the fuller measure of 20%, chomesh) given to tzedaka.

How the maaser calculation works

Take your income, subtract the expenses it took to earn it (materials, travel to the work, fees — not living expenses), and give one tenth of what remains. That is maaser kesafim. Giving one fifth — chomesh — is the fuller measure the Rambam calls the choicest way to give (Mishneh Torah, Gifts to the Poor 7:5). The Talmud teaches "aser bishvil shetisasher" — tithe so that you will prosper (Taanis 9a).

Track it automatically

Yafutzu keeps a personal maaser ledger — every income, every gift, your running obligation — and every gift you give through the platform credits it instantly. Yafutzu is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; giving carries zero platform fees.
