Greetings and blessings,

I reply to your letter by which you ask me whether you should acquire a business in association with a person who does not observe Shabbos, so that the store can be open on that day for the account of this person.

You no doubt know that money coming from a violation of Shabbos will be lost in the end and will drag down with it what one possesses besides. Why then envisage such affairs, which are extremely close to loss and far from profit?

Hashem takes charge of the parnasah* of each one. He will therefore assure yours, in expansiveness and in a kosher manner[1], so that you may acquire only what is sound and Jewish.

I would be happy to learn that you are teaching Torah publicly. Likewise, you will no doubt gladden me by informing me that a greater number of participants attends your shiurim* and that they also include the study of Chassidus*.

I extend to you my blessing, and I greet all those who participate in these shiurim*.

Enclosed you will find the sicha* edited on the occasion of Lag BaOmer*, this year[2]. You will surely make it available to as many people as possible.

במענה על מכתבו ששואל אם יקנה עסק בשותפות עם עוד אחד שאינו שומר שבת, באופן אשר גם העסק לא יהי' בשמירת שבת, אלא שיהי' על חלקו של השני.

הנה בטח יודע כי ממון הקשור עם חלול שבת הנה ר"ל לא רק הם הולכים לטמין, אלא גם גוררים ממון אחר, א"כ מה לו ולמסחרים כאלה הקרובים מאד מאד להפסד ורחוקים משכר?!

והשי"ת הזן ומפרנס לכל, בטח ימציא לו פרנסתו בריוח באופן כשר ובאופן שיוכל להשתמש בפרנסתו אף געזונטע זאכן און אידישע זאכן.

אשמח לשמוע שקבע שיעורי תורה בחבורה, ובטח ישמחני בהודעה מהגדלת מספר המשתתפים בהלימודים ושיקבעו ג"כ שיעור לימוד בתורת החסידות.
