To the great Rav, chassid* who has yiras Shamayim*, of multiple qualities, Rav David[1], Chief Rabbi and av beis din* of Tunisia,

Greetings and blessings,

I have heard tell of you through our delegate and our bureau in Europe and Morocco[2]. From time to time, I learn with satisfaction that the quality of chinuch* is improving in your country and that you are conducting positive actions in this matter.

I have asked the office of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch* to send you some study books published by us and Chumashim*[3] for the children of your country. You have no doubt received them, and they will surely be very useful to you.

I am sending you the kuntres* that appeared on the occasion of the festival of Pesach*, just before this festival.

Pesach* has no doubt provoked a renewed interest in chinuch* and its strengthening in your city. Every Jew, at the start of his meal during this festival, announces and proclaims: "Whoever is hungry, let him come and eat"[4]. These words go far beyond their primary sense. They indicate, moreover, that one must bring "the food of healing"[5] and "the food of emunah*"[6] to the only son of the King, who is sick and hungry, according to the Zohar*, volume 2, page 183b.

It is thus that one procures an immense satisfaction for our Father, Who is in Heaven, blessed be He. It is known that the Attribute of good is the most powerful[7]. It will allow obtaining all the blessings reserved, for this world and the World to Come, for all those who act and dedicate themselves to the positive chinuch* of Jewish children.

שלום וברכה!

שמעתי שמעו הטוב באמצעות ב"כ ומשרדנו אשר באירופא ובמאראק. וינעם לי לשמוע מפעם לפעם מהטבת מצב החינוך במדינתו ומפעולותיהם הטובות במקצוע זה.

צויתי למשרד ה"מרכז לעניני חינוך" לשלוח מספר מסויים מספרי הלימוד שיצאו לאור על ידנו וגם ספרי חומש כו' בעד הילדים דמדינתו. ובטח נתקבלו בסדר ויביאו התועלת הרצוי'.

הנני שולח לכת"ר את הקונטרס לחג הפסח שהו"ל לפני החג.

חג הפסח בטח הביא התעוררות וחיזוק בעבודת החינוך במחנו, שהרי כל איש בישראל בראשית סדרו שלחנו בחג הקדוש הזה קורא ומכריז כל דכפין ייתי וייכול גו' שענינו לא רק כפשוטו, אלא גם להמציא מיכלא דאסוותא מיכלא דמהי[מ]נותא לבר יחידאי דמלכא דחלש ותאיב למיכל (זוהר ח"ב קפג, ב), וגדול הנחת רוח שועשים על ידי זה לאבינו שבשמים יתברך ויתעלה, ומרובה מדה טובה ברוב טוב הצפון בזה ובבא לכל העושים ומתעסקים בעבודת החינוך לחנך בני ובנות ישראל בחינוך הכשר.
