To the association of Young Lubavitch Women, and at their head, the rebbetzin* Mindel Katz,

Greetings and blessings,

I received with satisfaction your letter, as well as the donation that was enclosed, to be distributed among the various institutions that were founded and led by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. Enclosed you will find the receipts.

You will surely continue your positive work and you will do what is in your power to broadly support our holy institutions. You will thus forge the channels conveying heavenly blessing and success.

In this period that separates Purim from Pesach*, the women must particularly meditate on the importance of these festivals and on the teachings they deliver. Purim and Pesach* commemorate salvation and redemption. A difference exists, however, between them.

The redemption of Purim came when the Jews were in galus*, and for some time they remained in it afterwards. At Pesach*, on the other hand, they were totally liberated. Having been slaves, they became free men.

However, and I would like to emphasize this point here, in one case as in the other, the redemption was obtained through the intermediary of women. At Purim, it was Esther. As for Pesach*, our Sages say that the redemption came about through the merit of the righteous women, who knew how to encourage and strengthen their husbands, raise the children and form a fervent Jewish generation, despite the difficulties and the obstacles of galus*.

With all their strengths, Jewish women must perpetuate the golden chain forged by their mothers and grandmothers throughout the generations. Thus, their action will hasten the complete geulah*, through our righteous Moshiach*, very soon and in our days.

שונים שנוסדו ונוהלו ע״י כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע,

הקבלות מצו״ב.

בטח תמשכנה גם הלאה בעבודתן הטובה ותעשינה עוד מאמץ גדול

יותר ליצור סיוע כמה שיותר גדול עבור המוסדות הק׳ ,שעל ידי זה אתן

יוצרות גם לעצמכן את הצינורות באמצעותם שולח הקב״ה לכן ולכל אשר

לכן ברכה והצלחה.

בזמן הזה ,בין פורים לפסח צריכות נשי ישראל בפרט להתבונן

בחשיבות ימים טובים אלה ומשמעותם .גם פורים גם פסח הם ימים טובים

של הצלה וגאולה ,עם הבדל שהצלת פורים היתה כשהיהודים היו בגלות

וגם לאחר מכן נשארו בגלות זמן מסוים ,בעוד שגאולת פסח היתה מעבדות

לחרות מושלמת .אך בשני המקרים -וזאת רצוני להדגיש כאן ^ הגאולה

באה בשל השתתפות נשי ישראל :פורים -אסתר ,ופסח ,אומרים חכמינו

זכרונם לברכה ,שבזכות נשים צדקניות בישראל הגיעה הגאולה ,כי הן

חיזקו את הרוח ועודדו את בעליהן ,וגידלו דור יהודי צעיר ומסור ,מבלי

הבט על כל הקשיים וההפרעות של הגלות.

נשי ישראל צריכות לפעול בכל הכוחות להחזיק את שלשלת הזהב

שהאמהות והסבתות שלהן צרפו בכל הדורות ,כדי למהר בעזרתן את
