To the attention of Mr. Aryeh Eliav[1],

I greet you and bless you.

I received, in due course, your letter with what was enclosed. I also had news of you through the Chassidim* who have met or continue to meet you, who always emphasize how graciously you receive them and help them, particularly within the framework of your new functions. Indeed, such a relationship on your part is not surprising, especially after we met some years ago and spoke of your work in Arad[2]. We discussed then also the eternal values of Judaism* and you made me a promise in this regard. Nevertheless, what one anticipates cannot be compared to a concrete realization. I hope, based on the information communicated to me by the Chassidim*, that you are acting in this domain by advancing and adding. Indeed, this must be so for everything that is alive, especially for a Jew who has received the Commandment to know the elevation in the domain of holiness[3]. Of course, when one finds that the possibilities for doing good are increased, there is a heavenly indication that this opportunity must be fully seized, all the more so since your pleasant lot consists in carrying out this action in "the land toward which the eyes of Hashem are turned, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year"[4].

I hope that upon receiving this letter, your health will be improved, and that you will act in the manner just described, by advancing and adding, especially for our brothers who have just arrived from that country[5]. No doubt the possibility will be granted them to remain together, in the environment closest to them, without dispersing and without separating. With my blessing to give me good news of all the above, in good health.

P.S. Please forgive me for not having yet responded regarding the connection which, for now, has not yet been established. But the searches continue and, naturally, you will receive an answer at their conclusion.

שלום וברכה!

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו, עם המצורף אליו, וכן קבלתי פ"ש ממנו על ידי אנ"ש שנפגשו ונפגשים אתו ומדגישים תמיד שמסביר להם פנים יפות ועוזר להם במסגרת תפקידו החדש, וכולי. ואף על פי שאין תימה ביחסו זה ובפרט לאחרי פגישתנו לפני שנים אחדות, כשדברנו ע"ד עבודתו בערד, ודובר אז ג"כ על דבר ערכי היהדות הנצחיים וכו' והבטחתו בזה, אבל אינו דומה דבר שבצפי' לדבר שבפועל. ותקותי על פי הידיעות מאנ"ש שעושה בזה באופן דמוסיף והולך שכן צריך להיות בכל דבר שיש בו רוח חיים, וביחוד אצל יהודי שנצטוה להעלות בקודש. ומובן שכשרואים שהאפשריות לעשות טוב הולכת וגדלה הרי זה הוראת אצבע מלמעלה שיש לנצל אותה במילואה ובפרט שחלקו הטוב הוא לעשות בזה בארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה.

תקותי שלעת קבלת מכתבי הוטב מצב בריאותו ועושה בכיון האמור באופן דמוסיף והולך, ובמיוחד בנוגע לאחינו שזה עתה באו ממדינה ההיא, שבודאי תינתן להם האפשרות להמשיך ביחד בסביבה הכי קרובה להם ולא יתפזרו ויפרדו וכו'.

בברכה לבשורות טובות מתוך בריאות הנכונה בכל האמור.

נ.ב. אתו הסליחה שעד עתה לא נענה על דבר ההשתייכות, שלעת עתה עוד לא מצא[ו] שייכות, ועדיין מחפשים, ואז כמובן יושלח מענה.
