By the grace of Hashem,

5 Tevet* 5729,
Brooklyn, New York,

I bless you and greet you,

I have been informed of your state of health[1] and I will therefore mention your name at the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, so that you may recover. Our holy Torah* states that one must follow the prescriptions of a specialist physician, in accordance with the verse: "Heal, he shall heal"[2], which means that the physician receives from Hashem the authorization and the power to heal. Without doubt, you will put this teaching of the Torah into practice. You will follow the advice and prescriptions of the doctors treating you. In this way, Hashem will grant you blessing and success, so that you may attain recovery.

Moreover, we have just lived through the days of Chanukah*, which bring clarity and good fortune to Jews, men and women alike. For, as our Sages say[3], "they[4] also participated in the miracle." In wishing you good news of everything stated above,

It would be good to have your Mezuzot* checked, if this has not been done in the last twelve months. No doubt you also have the custom of setting aside a coin for Tzedakah* before lighting the candles[5].

ברכה ושלום!

מסרו לי אודות מצב בריאותה ,ואזכיר אותה לרפואה על הציון של

כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר.

כיון שתורתנו הקדושה מצוה שיש לציית להוראות רופא )מומחה(,

וכפי שכתוב בפסוק ורפא ירפא ,זאת אומרת שהרופא מקבל מלמעלה

רשות וכח לרפא ,בטח גם היא תציית להוראת התורה הנזכרת לעיל

ותעשה לפי הוראת העצה והציווי של הרופאים שמטפלים בה ,והקב״ה

יברך אותה ויצליח אותה שיהיה בהצלחה.

במיוחד שאנו באים כעת מימי חנוכה ,המביאים אור ומזל ליהודים,

אנשים ונשים ,וכפי שחכמינו זכרונם לברכה אומרים ,אף הן היו באותו

הנס.

בברכה לבשורות טובות בכל הנזכר לעיל.

כדאי לבדוק את המזוזות אם לא עשו זאת בי״ב החדשים

האחרונים .כנראה גם נוהגת להפריש מטבע לצדקה לפני הדלקת נרות.
