To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, has many accomplishments and good conduct, Rav Y. Kling[1],

I greet you and bless you,

For various reasons, the present letter has been delayed and I ask your forgiveness for this. Following up on our conversation during your visit here and in accordance with what was then said, I am enclosing a check for the construction fund of a school based on sacred values in your city[2], which you will lead.

May Hashem grant you success and the blessing of redoubling your energy and zeal to disseminate traditional Judaism, that of our Torah*, Torah of truth, which leaves no room for compromises and arrangements, and its Mitzvot*, of which it is said: "He shall live by them"[3]. This means that, in every place and at all times, the Torah and the Mitzvot are the true life of every Jewish man and woman, their authentic existence, including on this material and coarse earth. And their attitude, on this path, depends on the education they have received. Moreover, every positive influence, during youth and in education, is greatly multiplied tenfold when the one who received it reaches adulthood.

And one knows the illustration that is given[4] in this regard. A small quantitative improvement to a seed or a seedling receives particular importance when that seed and seedling grow and become a fruit-bearing tree. To someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to explain all this.

May Hashem grant each of us, within all of Israel, the success to be ever elevated in the domain of holiness[5], with regard to the Torah and the Mitzvot, by advancing, adding and illuminating, as the days of Chanukah*[6] that have just passed teach us, during which candles are added each day, "the candle that is a Mitzvah and the Torah that is a light"[7]. מפני כמה סיבות נתעכב מכתבי זה ואתו רב הסליחה.

ובהמשך לשיחתנו בעת ביקורו כאן ובהתאם להמדובר אז, מצו"ב המחאה לקרן הבנין של מוסד החינוך על טהרת הקודש אשר בעירו ותחת ידו.

ויהי רצון אשר יצליחהו השי"ת ויברכו להוסיף כח ואומץ בהפצת היהדות המסורתית, יהדות תורתנו תורת אמת (אשר אמת הרי ענינה שאין בה מקום לפשרות ולויתורים וכולי) ומצותי' עליהן נאמר וחי בהם, זאת אומרת אשר כל אחד ואחת בישראל בכל מקום ובכל זמן התורה ומצותי' הם חייו האמתיים גם עלי אדמות בעולם הגשמי והחומרי. והנהגתם בדרך זו הרי תלוי' בהחינוך אשר מקבלים, ועוד יותר אשר כל השפעה טובה בגיל הצעיר והחינוך מוגדלת פי כמה לכשיגדל המחונך והמחונכת,

וכידוע בזה הדוגמא אשר הטבה קטנה בכמות בגרעין ובשתיל עץ, חשיבותה גדולה ביותר לכשיגדל הגרעין והשתיל והיו לאילן נושא פירות. ובודאי לדכוותי' דכת"ר אין צורך בביאור בכל זה.

והשם יתברך יצליח את כל אחד מאתנו בתוככי כלל ישראל להעלות בקודש בעניני תורה ומצוות הלוך ומוסיף ואור, כהוראת ימי חנוכה דאזלינן מנייהו, שמוסיפין בנרות – נר מצוה ותורה אור – מיום ליום.
