To the participants in the public Torah* study, through the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, has good conduct and many accomplishments, Rav Peretz,

I greet you and bless you,

I have learned with pleasure of your public Torah study sessions, of its revealed portion and of the teaching of Chassidut*. Without doubt, you are fulfilling, in this matter, the precept according to which one is ever elevated in the domain of holiness[2]. I mean that you are developing this study, both quantitatively and qualitatively, which also includes an increase in the number of participants.

A Torah commandment is also a strength granted[3] to fulfill it. Moreover, one thereby obtains Hashem's help, and our Sages state[4] that "one comes to the aid of one who wishes to purify himself." Furthermore, one knows the precision of the Admur HaZaken*[5], according to which "purifying oneself" also means "purifying others"[6].

"Hashem made everything come in its time"[7]. We are in the days of Chanukah and the Halacha* follows the opinion of Beit Hillel*, according to which candles and light are continuously added[8]. Now, there is no light except the Torah[9] and its Mitzvot*. Indeed, the verse[10] states clearly that: "the candle is a Mitzvah and the Torah is a light." With my respects and blessing to give me good news of all that has just been said, as well as for a luminous Chanukah that will illuminate throughout the year,

שלום וברכה!

נעם לי לקבל הידיעה על דבר שיעורי הלימודים שלהם, הן בנגלה דתורה והן בתורת החסידות, אשר בטח מקיימים בזה הציווי להעלות בקודש. כוונתי בהוספה בלימוד הן בכמות והן באיכות, כולל גם כן הוספה במספר המשתתפים.

והרי ציווי התורה הוא גם כן נתינת כח. ולא עוד אלא שמקבלים סיוע מלמעלה, כהודעת חכמינו ז"ל הבא לטהר מסייעין אותו. וידוע דיוק רבנו הזקן לטהר תרתי משמע – לטהר עצמו ולטהר אחרים.

והכל עשה יפה בעתו, שנמצאים אנו בימי חנוכה והלכה כבית הלל, דמוסיף והולך בנרות ואור, ואין אור אלא תורה ומצותי', שהרי מקרא מלא דיבר הכתוב כי נר מצוה ותורה אור.
