To the Rabbanit* Devorah Leah[1],

I bless and greet you,

Through your husband, the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and dedicates himself to communal needs, Rav Menachem Shmuel David[2], we received your check for Tzedakah*, as well as your decision to exceed the amount of the tithe.

You surely know the importance of the merit constituted by the Mitzvah* of Tzedakah* in general, and particularly that which arrives during the auspicious days between the 10th and 19th of Kislev*, for that is the date of the liberation of the Admor HaZaken* and of his son, the Admor HaEmtzai*. One thereby invokes the merits that were the origin of their liberation. This was, in fact, the liberation of each and every one of us, in all generations. And they themselves emphasize[3] that the merit of Tzedakah* afforded them particular protection.

It follows that Tzedakah* is one of the Mitzvot* by which each person, man and woman, can free themselves from all unfortunate elements, permanently possess joy and enthusiasm. From it one draws increased blessing and success in all favorable domains, in order to obtain, in particular, genuine satisfaction — that is, Jewish and Chassidic* satisfaction — with each of the children and with all of them together, in good health, in material and spiritual abundance. With my blessing on the occasion of the Festival of Liberation, and to bring me good tidings of all this,
