To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, my close relative, Rav A. Z. Slonim[1],

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter and, without question, you will write to me again, with more details, about the events you describe in an extremely concise manner.

For now, what is the purpose of this letter is the good news that our friend — may he have long days and good years[2] — will pray in the Tzemach Tzedek* synagogue and house of study in reunified Jerusalem during this coming Rosh Chodesh Kislev*. Living water from the Chassidic farbrengen* of this Shabbat, which blesses Rosh Chodesh Kislev, was sent to you through one of the Yeshiva* students who traveled to Eretz Yisrael*, may it be restored and rebuilt, at the conclusion of the holy Shabbat[3]. In accordance with what was agreed, this drink will reach you on the eve of Rosh Chodesh, and you will no doubt be a good emissary to bring it, in my name, to the Chassidic farbrengen that will follow the prayer in this synagogue and house of study, during Rosh Chodesh. As I said, it should be emphasized that this comes from the Shabbat that blesses the entire month — in particular Rosh Chodesh Kislev and all that pertains to it.

May Hashem fully fulfill all the blessings given to our friend, to whom Hashem will grant long days and good years. In the words of the blessing of the month, may the Holy One Blessed be He renew it for us and for all His people, the house of Israel, for life and for peace, for gladness and for joy, for salvation and for consolation — until the one that has been promised: "Comfort, comfort My people"[4], with the true and complete redemption, through our righteous Mashiach*. ועל של עתה באתי בקשר להבשורה טובה אשר ידידנו שליט"א יתפלל בביהכ"נ ובביהמ"ד הצ"צ אשר בירושלים השלימה בראש חודש כסלו הבע"ל – נשלח על ידי אחד התלמידים התמימים שי' שנסע במוצש"ק זה לאה"ק ת"ו – משקה לכת"ר מההתועדות דש"ק זה, שבת מברכים ראש חודש כסלו, שיגיע, כפי המדובר, ליד כת"ר ערב ראש חודש, ובטח יהי' כת"ר שליח טוב להביא המשקה בשמי לההתועדות לאחרי התפלה בביהכ"נ וביהמ"ד הנ"ל, בר"ח, וכנ"ל בהדגשה שזהו משבת קודש מברכים כל החודש, ובפרט – ראש חודש כסלו ועניניו.

וימלא השי"ת כל הברכות אשר ברכו את ידידנו שליט"א במילואן, ובסגנון דברכת החודש, יחדשהו הקב"ה עלינו ועל כל עמו בית ישראל לחיים ולשלום לששון ולשמחה לישועה ולנחמה, ועד לנחמה המיועדת נחמו נחמו עמי, בגאולה האמיתית והשלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו.
