To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Shalom Dovber Lipchitz[1],

I greet you and bless you,

I received[2] these past days a visit from Mr. Yosef Klarman and we spoke at length about his new functions within the Aliyah* program. Naturally, the conversation focused primarily on the continuation of religious education for all immigrants who had received one until then[3]. He gave me his absolute assurance that he would do everything possible to ensure this happens in the best way. He also added that he had met with you and your friends, whose names he mentioned, and he told me that he had clarified all of this with you. He indicated that if there were a grievance or an objection, one should notify him as quickly as possible. He would then conduct a proper inquiry to rectify whatever needs rectifying. His door is therefore open to you at all times, and he is also prepared to provide the names of these immigrants[4], although on this last point, he did not speak clearly, as the situation is not known here.

Upon his return to the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, after his travels, he will come once more to New York and, as we agreed, we shall meet again at that time. It would therefore be good, before then, for you to send here all these details, along with everything connected to them. This is self-evident.

For a long time I have not received any letters or news from you. May Hashem grant that this is a sign that all is well, both on the communal level and personally. With my blessing for success in all that has been said, as well as to give me good news,

ימים אלו בקרני מר יוסף שי' קלאַרמאַן ושוחח ארוכות בנוגע למשרתו החדשה, תכנית העלי' וכולי.

וכמובן בעיקר נסבה השיחה בנוגע להמשך החינוך הדתי לכל אלו מהעולים שקבלו חינוך זה ע"ע וכו'. והבטיח בהחלט שייעשה הכל בסדר הכי טוב. והוסיף ג"כ שכבר נפגש עמו ועם חבריו שי' שפרשם בשם ואמר להם כנ"ל, ובהוספה שמבקש באם תהי' איזה תביעה וטענה וכו' להודיע לו בהקדם ויעשה חקירה ודרישה המתאימה על מנת לתקן הצריך תיקון וכו' ואשר דלתו פתוחה לפניהם בכל עת ומוכן למסור גם שמות העולים וכו'. אף שבנקודה אחרונה לא נדבר ברורות, כיון שלא נודע כאן המצב בזה.

בדרכו חזרה לאה"ק ת"ו מנסיעותיו יהי' עוה"פ בניו-יאָרק וכפי המדובר ניפגש עוה"פ. ולכן כדאי שעד אז יודיע לכאן בפרטיות על דבר כל הנ"ל והשייך לזה, וק"ל.

זה מזמן רב שאין ממנו כל מכתבים וידיעות, ויהי רצון שזהו סימן שהכל בסדר בענינים הכלליים והפרטיים גם יחד.
