To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Mr. Aharon Bir[1],
I greet you and bless you,
I have just received a written request for a blessing that was made on your behalf and that of your wife. I will mention your names at the grave of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit shall protect us, so that you may obtain the fulfillment of your heart's desire, for good and for blessing[2].
From what I have heard about you, it is surely unnecessary to emphasize that an increase in what concerns Torah* and Mitzvot* adds to the blessing of Hashem, blessed be He, especially when one is in need of a particular blessing. Now, with regard to Torah and Mitzvot, such an increase is always possible, for they have no end, since they emanate from the infinite Hashem, blessed be He. May Hashem grant that you give me good news of all this.
I trust that you have a set time for Torah study each day, both of its revealed teaching and of its inner dimension, which is Chassidut*. Various texts establish the necessity of both together. Our friend, the distinguished and pleasant Chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Moshe Tzvi HaLevi Segal[1], has surely already spoken to you of all this. זה עתה נתקבל פ"נ כתוב עבורו ועבור זוג' שתחי', ואזכירם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע למילוי משאלות לבבם לטובה ולברכה.
ועל פי מה ששמעתי אודותיו למותר להדגיש שהוספה בעניני תורה ומצוות מוסיפה בברכת השי"ת, ובפרט כשזקוקים לברכה מיוחדת, והלא בעניני תורה ומצותי' תמיד יש מקום להוספה, כיון שאין-סופים הם כי מקורם באין-סוף ב"ה.
ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור.
תקותי חזקה שיש לו קביעת עתים בכל יום לתלמוד תורה, הן בנגלה והן בפנימיות התורה היא תורת החסידות, שהכרח לימוד שניהם מבואר בכמה מקומות. ובודאי דיבר אתו כבר בענינים אלה ידידנו הוו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצ"צ מו"ה משה צבי שי' הלוי סגל.
