To Mr. Shraga and Mrs. Devora Netzer,

I greet and bless you,

The guests from the Holy Land[1], may it be restored and rebuilt, conveyed your greetings and wishes to me. On the occasion of the new year that approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for the good and for blessing, I hereby extend to you and to all your household my wishes that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually.

This includes the fact that each of you individually, and both of you together, will make use of your influence for the benefit of our people, "a unique nation on earth"[2], for the benefit of our Holy Land, "a land upon which Hashem's eyes rest always, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year"[3], both materially and spiritually, since these two dimensions are linked. In a Jew in particular, the spirit prevails over matter[4] and the spiritual over the material. With my blessing of success, and hoping to receive good tidings from you,

האורחים מאה"ק ת"ו מסרו לי הפ"ש והאיחולים.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי, להם ולכל אשר להם, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ונכלל בזה שכ"א מהם ושניהם ביחד ינצלו השפעתם לטובת עמנו, גוי אחד בארץ, ולטובת ארצנו הקדושה, ארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה, בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד, שהא בהא תליא, ואצל יהודי בפרט הוא באופן של הגברת הצורה על החומר והרוח על הגשם.
