Greetings and blessings,

I received in their time your letter of 4 Shevat and the list. I read them at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that he might invoke the mercy of Hashem for the fulfillment of your needs.

You tell me that you have registered to immigrate to Canada, since you are not being granted an entry visa to the United States, and that this registration does not remove your right to request that visa again later. You ask me about this. But if it is so, there is nothing negative in it, and your step will therefore be fruitful.

Nevertheless, the chassidim* should take an interest in the possibility of settling in Australia. According to the information one can obtain, it is a place that offers possibilities for earning a living. And, with Hashem's help, there is good hope that a center of Chassidus* will be established there. The arrival of a few more chassidim* will hasten its building, so that it may spread the wellsprings of Chassidus* in that country.

The chassidim* who do not yet need a yeshiva* to school their children should therefore settle in Australia. They would find good there, both materially and spiritually.

You have surely already received the kuntres* edited on the occasion of Purim, with the letter that was enclosed with it, and you have made them available to as many people as possible, in the proper manner.

מכתבו מד' שבט וגם הרשימה בעתם נתקבלו, וקראתים אז על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לעורר ר"ר להמצטרך להם...

בשאלתו שנרשם להעתקה לקאנאדא, כיון שלעת עתה אין נותנים לו הניירות לארצה"ב, וע"י רשימתו זו אין נפסלים זכיותיו לבקש אח"כ גם לארצה"ב - הנה עפ"ז אין בזה חלקי הסותר כלל, ויהי בהצלחה.

אבל בכלל צריכים היו אנ"ש להתענין ע"ד ההעתקה לאוסטראליא כי עפ"י הידיעות משם המקום מקום פרנסה, ויש לקוות שבעזהשי"ת יבנו שם מרכז חסידותי, וההקדם בביאת עוד אחדים מאנ"ש לשם - יקדים גם בנין ושכלול מרכז זה והפצת המעיינות שם, ואותם שאין צריכים עדיין ישיבה בשביל ילידיהם שי' מהנכון שיעתיקו לשם, ויהי' טובה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
