Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9467

Volume 25 · Letter 89 · 11 Adar 5728 · To: formulation(5)

By the grace of Hashem,

11 Adar 5728,
Brooklyn, New York,

To the attention of Mr. Yitzchak Aggassy,
Jerusalem,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter and have noted with pleasure the admiration you feel for the Chabad* movement and its activities. Action is essential[1] and doubtless you give all of this concrete expression, in an ever-increasing manner, in accordance with the ruling of our Sages[2] that one must always advance in matters of holiness. May Hashem grant you success.

You tell me that you were married a few months ago. No doubt you both decided to build a Jewish home on the foundation of Torah* and Mitzvot*. May Hashem therefore cause it to be an eternal edifice and may He fulfill the wishes of your heart, for good and for blessing, both materially and spiritually.

The days of Purim* are approaching and may Hashem bring it about that "in these days" it be as "at that time," so that "for the Jews there was light, joy, gladness and honor"[3] — both in the simple sense and as our Sages explain:[4] "the light — that is the Torah*..." Indeed, the one depends on the other, both in public life and in private life. According to our formulation,[5] we will bring one redemption close to another, and may Hashem cause us all, together with all our people, the children of Israel, to merit the true and complete redemption, through our righteous Mashiach*, very soon. With my respects and blessing so as to give me good news,
