Peace and blessing to the great Rav, chassid* who has yiras Shamayim* and renders judgment, a man of zealous deed and many accomplishments, who leads his kehilla* in uprightness, who enlightens and illuminates, who produces good fruits, descendant of an illustrious lineage, Rav Meir Shlita Abuhatzeira[1], spiritual guide of the kehilla* of Midelt,

Greetings and blessings,

I obtain from time to time news of your city through the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who has yiras Shamayim*, a man of many accomplishments and dedicated to a Divine mission, Rav Michael Lipsker[2].

But you will surely give me pleasure by announcing to me yourself good news that gladdens the heart. You will tell me that the Torah institutions "Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch*" of your city are developing, that the Precepts of Hashem, which are upright and gladden the heart, are being taught there. In advance, I thank you very much for this.

For the moment, here is the purpose of the present letter. I would like to express to you all my gratitude for the sefer* Machsof HaLavan[3], which you sent to me. The name has intrinsic importance, and the Zohar, vol. 1, page 161b, states: "In this white place, this color overcomes the red. Why all this? In order to reveal the blessing emanating from the primary source."

Then it says further, on page 162a: "The white enters into all the other colors and dominates them. That is why a 'white place' is mentioned here. Likewise, Hashem is my shepherd and I shall not lack, for He pastures me in green pastures."

Enclosed you will find the kuntres* edited for the days of Purim, which we have just published[4] and which presents the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, tzaddik* and pillar of the world, who invokes mercy and arouses blessing and success for all Israel, in particular for those who give pleasure to his neshama*. For it is found at the same time in Gan Eden* and in this world, according to Tractate Yevamos 97.

One can give him this satisfaction by supporting the institutions that educate Jewish children in the traditional spirit of Israel. For "when there are kid goats, there are billy goats; when there are children, there are adults, sages, elders, the Torah, shuls*, batei midrash*," in the words of the Midrash cited in this kuntres*. And, as the ultimate purpose, "the Holy One, blessed be He, reveals His Presence in the world," in this lower and material world, for "the other side" will be repulsed and the darkness will become light. Then the radiance of Hashem will shine forth.

With my blessing of a joyous Purim and with greetings to your entire kehilla*, for all Jews are brothers, also greeting all your children,

ועל של עתה באתי, להביע רוב תודתי על הספר "מחשוף הלבן" ששלח - ושמא מילתא, ראה זח"א קסא, ב: מחשוף הלבן דיתגלי חוורא על סומקא וכל דא למאי לאמשכא לדרגא דא דעדבא ברכאן ממבוע דכולא עכ"ל, ושם קסב, א: וחוורא אתגליף על גוונין וסליק על גוון כולהו הה"ד מחשוף הלבן וכו' וכדין הוי' רועי לא אחסר וכתיב בנאות דשא ירביצני גו' עיי"ש.

ומוסג"פ הקונטרס לימי הפורים הבע"ל אשר הדפסנו זה עתה מתורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, צדיקו ויסודו של עולם המעורר רחמים להשפיע ברכה והצלחה עכ"י ובפרט לאלו עושים נח"ר לנשמתו בגנ"מ ובעוה"ז (יבמות צז) ע"י תמיכת מוסדות חנוך לבני ובנות ישראל ברוח ישראל סבא, אשר כאשר יש גדיים יש תישים כשיש קטנים יש גדולים, יש חכמים, יש זקנים, יש תורה, יש בתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות (ע"פ לשון המדרש - הובא בקונטרס -) ותכלית הכל - הקדוש ברוך הוא משרה שכינתו בעולם, בעולם הזה התחתון הגשמי, כי אתכפייא סטרא אחרא ואתהפכא חשוכא לנהורא, שיאיר אור אין סוף ברוך הוא.
