To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who has yiras Shamayim*, Rav I.[1],

Greetings and blessings,

Enclosed you will find the kuntres* edited on the occasion of the days of Purim, and you will surely make it available to those who benefit from your influence. They will learn it and teach it, will keep and observe and put into practice the conclusion and synthesis of the chassidic maamar* that is printed in this kuntres*, which can be formulated as follows.

Despite the trials, the difficulties and the hardships, one must firmly hold fast to the concrete application of the Torah and the mitzvos*.

With all one's strength, one will redouble one's effort, in particular to provide a good chinuch*, to teach the sons and daughters of Israel the mitzvos* of Hashem and His Torah.

In certain places, the open persecutions and the cunning ruses have as their object "to seize the shuls* and the batei midrash*," to make the children of Israel forget, chas v'shalom*, the Torah of Hashem and His mitzvos*, to draw them away, chas v'shalom*, from G-dliness.

It must therefore be known that in times of persecution, when the obstacles and the veils multiply, when one passes off darkness as light, when what should have intensified the clarity of holiness is used to strengthen the blackness of the forces of evil and of "the other side"[2], "Hashem grants a heavenly potential, allowing one to transform the gloom into beneficent light."

We must go to the point of giving our own person to preserve the small boys and the small girls, for, in the words of the Midrash[3], "if there are children, there will be adults, Sages, elders, Torah, shuls*, batei midrash*" and, ultimate purpose, "the Holy One, blessed be He, will reveal His Presence in the world," in this lower and material world, for "the other side" will be repulsed, the darkness will become light and the radiance of Hashem will shine forth.

I received in its time your letter of 24 Shevat[4]. As you requested, I read the request for blessing that was enclosed at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

Thank you very much for announcing to me good news regarding the study of ..., a student of your yeshiva*.

I just received your letter written at the conclusion of Shabbos*, and I await good news from you, to the extent that you have structured your activity, materially and spiritually.

The blessings of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that you should know success in all that concerns you, personally and in the communal dimension, will accompany you at every moment.

I received your letters in their time and I enclose the receipts.

You had caught a cold, and that has surely passed. Please confirm this to me. You will also give me news of Mrs. Masha Libka and her sister, the two daughters of Mr. Rosen.

I enclose three letters. If they seem suitable to you, please pass them on. I thank you in advance.

I am a little surprised not to have received a letter from you all this time, neither to describe your communal activities, nor to evoke your study of the revealed part of the Torah and of Chassidus*, nor to speak about your personal concerns, which we discussed when you were here. You will surely rectify all this in your next letter.

I would also like to know what activity your wife, the rebbetzin*, is engaged in, in the area of taharas hamishpacha*.

מוסג"פ הקונטרס לימי הפורים הבע"ל, ובטח יזכה בו את כל אלו שהשפעתו עליהם, שילמדו אותו, ללמוד וללמד לשמור ולעשות ולקיים את המסקנא וה"בכן" מהאמור בהמאמר הנדפס בקונטרס, והוא

למרות הנסיונות והטרדות והבלבולים - לעמוד חזק בקיום התורה והמצות בפועל, וביחוד

להוסיף אומץ, ובהשתדלות יתרה, בעבודת חינוך הכשר ללמד את בני ובנות ישראל את מצוות הוי' ותורתו.

ואם ישנם מקומות אשר על ידי גזירות בגלוי או בתחבולות מרמה רוצים ל"אחוז בתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות" להשכיח ח"ו את בני ישראל את תורת הוי' ומצותיו ולהדיחם ח"ו מאלקות,

הנה צריך לדעת אשר בזמן הגזירה דוקא, כאשר רבו ההעלמות וההסתרים, עד אשר שמים אור לחושך (ענינים שצריכים היו להוסיף אור הקדושה משתמשים בהם להרבות חושך הקליפות וסטרא אחרא)

"אז דוקא נותנים כח מלמעלה להפוך את החושך לאור כי טוב".

וכאשר נשמור - עד למסירת נפש - על הקטנים והקטנות, הרי על פי לשון המדרש, כשיש קטנים יש גדולים, יש חכמים, יש זקנים, יש תורה, יש בתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות - ותכלית הכל - הקדוש ברוך הוא משרה שכינתו בעולם, בעולם הזה התחתון הגשמי, כי אתכפיא סטרא אחרא ואתהפכא חשוכא לנהורא, שיאיר אור אין סוף ברוך הוא.
