[Beginning of the month of Shevat* 5727]

As we discussed when you were in my office[1], you must return to the Holy Land* — may it be restored and rebuilt — find a means of earning your livelihood there, and become engaged. At your age, you should even become engaged as quickly as possible, especially since Hashem-fearing Sephardim* marry very young[2]. You will therefore do all of this as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, you will set aside time each day for Torah* study, and you will tithe* — for Tzedakah* — at least one tenth of your earnings. In this way, Hashem will grant you success in elevating yourself in His fear and in Chassidut*. Moreover, you will receive the blessing in the most material sense. As with all good things, you will do all of this with genuine joy and with firm trust in Hashem. You will consult the administration of the Yeshiva* in order to set the date of your departure, and this will take place at a good and auspicious moment.

In addition, the following mission is entrusted to you. If this can be done peacefully[3], from your return to the Holy Land — may it be restored and rebuilt — you will comment, on Shabbat* and the festivals, at the gatherings of our Sephardic brothers, or in their synagogues, on several points that were developed here in the Chassidic discourses and in the talks.

[תחלת שבט, ה'תשכ"ז]

כפי שדברנו בהיותו בחדרי - עליו לחזור לאהקת"ו, להסתדר שם בענין של פרנסה ולהשתדך. ומתאים לגילו - כדאי להשתדך בהקדם (ובפרט שהספרדים יר"ש - בכלל משתדכים במוקדם), ולכן כהנ"ל צ"ל בהקדם. אלא שיקבע עתים בכל יום בלימוד התורה, ויפריש לצדקה מעשר ממה שישתכר (לפחות), ועיכ"ז יצליחו ה' בעלי' ביר"ש, חסידות וכו' - נוסף על הברכה בגשמיות כפשוטה. וכבכל ענינים טובים - צ"ל כ"ז נעשה בשמחה אמתית ובבטחון חזק בה'.
