To the female auxiliaries of Neshei* at Montreal, may Hashem grant you long life, and to Madame Sarah[1],

I bless and greet you,

I have duly received your letter of 6 Tevet, together with what was enclosed. May Hashem grant you success in your work on behalf of the institutions, which were founded and are directed in the spirit of my father-in-law, the Rabbi — near whose holy tomb your names will be mentioned — so that all those who act in this matter may know considerable success.

May Hashem grant that your commitment to all of this be ever increasing. Indeed, such is the teaching of the days of Chanukah* that have just concluded. One then increases, day by day, the light linked to: "the candle is a Mitzvah* and the Torah is a light"[2]. With my blessing that you bring me good news of all this,
