To my close relative, the Rav, distinguished and pleasant Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Azriel Zelig[1],

I greet and bless you,

I received, in due time, the Chassidic* manuscripts, through the intermediary of the Rav, distinguished and pleasant Chassid who fears Hashem, of many accomplishments, Rav M. P. Katz[2], and his son, distinguished young man, a Yeshiva* student[3].

Merit is conferred upon a day that is by nature propitious[4], since all of this occurs during these days of Chanukah, during which candles are lit, recalling[5]: "the candle is a Mitzvah* and the Torah is a light"[6], as is well known. Moreover, they are lit in the best possible manner — that is, in an ever-increasing number[7]. The merit of the greatest number therefore depends on you, for all will surely make use of these manuscripts[8], in presenting the discourses and commentaries of our masters and leaders, whose publication will become possible with Hashem's help.
