You have informed me of your wife's condition, and here is my reply. May Hashem grant that the days of her pregnancy pass well and easily, that she give birth without difficulty and at the right time, and that the newborn be in good health. With my blessing for great success in spreading the wellsprings[1] — in particular, those of Judaism in general — as well as to bring me good news of all the above,
M. Schneerson,
You ask me how and where to work in the future. Of course, you must give the very highest priority to the Lubavitch institutions, and this priority will be both on your part and on the part of those institutions. Furthermore, this work must enable you to make the fullest use of your abilities, with joy. And I see no reason, no cause that could obstruct the realization of these two conditions[2], which are for the benefit of both parties[3]. Nevertheless, you present them as conflicting in your letter. You will therefore seek counsel from friends who are on the spot[4] to ascertain whether this is truly the case, or whether you are mistaken because you are not objective. You will make a decision based on their counsel, and Hashem will guide you on the path that will be good for you, both materially and spiritually.

לשאלתו בנוגע לאופן ומקום עבודתו בעתיד - מובן שקדימה ביותר וביותר לעבודתו במוסדות ליובאוויטש (קדימה הן מצדו והן מצד המוסדות). כן מובן שעבודה צ"ל באופן לנצל מקסימום האפשרי דיכולתו ומתוך שמחה - ואיני רואה כל סיבה וענין שימנעו קיום שני תנאים הנ"ל ביחד. והרי זוהי, כנ"ל, טובת כל הצדדים.
במכתבו כותב אחרת. ויתייעץ עם ידידים על אתר האומנם כן הוא, או שטועה הוא מפני היותו נוגע בדבר. ובהתאם לעצתם יחליט. וה' ינחהו בטוב לפניו בגו"ר גם יחד.
