To the distinguished Rav* who fears Hashem* and dedicates himself to communal needs, Rav* Yehoshua Shneur Zalman[1],

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter[2] of 7 Elul*, in which you request my blessing. At an auspicious moment, it will be read at the holy tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us. Of course, the teaching of the students[3], regarding Chassidut* and likewise the revealed part of the Torah*, will be in accordance with their knowledge, abilities, and interest[4], at least over time. With my blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,
