By the grace of Hashem,

Days of Chanukah* 5726,

I greet and bless you,

I have duly received your letter[1] and may Hashem grant that you bring me good tidings from its contents. Indeed, these days are propitious for this, being the days of Chanukah*, a period of miracles and salvations, material and spiritual — festivals on which we recite praises and thanksgiving.[2] With my blessing,

I have just received[3] the manuscripts of Rav M. R.[4] Our Sages say[5] that "one thanks the one who serves him," and you will find regarding this the Derech Mitzvotecha*, at page 6b.
