By the grace of Hashem,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Moshe*,[1]

I greet and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of the third day of the month of liberation,[2] together with its enclosure. I thank you greatly for having sent me these two letters signed by the Tzemach Tzedek*,[3] especially since this year marks the hundredth anniversary since his Hilloula*.

Added to this was the pleasure of learning that your brother H. H. is alive and residing in Moscow. He kept these letters throughout all these years, despite the events and revolutions that took place, which attests to his feeling, his connection, and his awareness of the value of all this. This observation confirms again and again the teaching of our masters and leaders regarding the heritage transmitted from generation to generation within Chassidic* families — the warm, deep, and essential relationship that is maintained therein toward Chassidut* and all that pertains to it.

I would like to make a request. When the occasion arises, please convey my warmest thanks to your brother for this especially precious gift. I hope that you participate in matters concerning Chabad* in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, and that you are generous toward others by drawing them toward activities carried out in this spirit. In this matter, your background[4] is of assistance to you. With my respects and reiterating my thanks, as well as wishing you a luminous Chanukah*, in good health,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום השלישי לחדש הגאולה עם המצורף בו.

ות"ח ת"ח על שלחו לי שני המכתבים בחת"י כ"ק אדמו"ר הצמח צדק,

ובפרט אשר השנה שנת המאה להסתלקות הילולא שלו (הצ"צ).

וגם שביחד עם זה הרי נתוסף הענג להוודע אשר אחיו ח. ח. שי' חי וגר במוסקבה, ושמר על מכתבים אלו, משך כל השנים, למרות המאורעות והמהפכות שעברו, שזה מראה על הרגש והיחס בהכרת גודל ערך ענינים כאלו,

המאמת עוד הפעם ועוה"פ מאמר רבותינו נשיאינו על דבר הירושה שנמסרת מדור לדור בתוככי משפחת החסידים, הקשר הלבבי הפנימי והעצמי לחסידות ועניני'.

וארשה לי להביע בקשתי, אשר בהזדמנות מתאימה ימסור גם לאחיו שי' תודתי מקול"ע על המתנה הכי נעלית האמורה.

תקותי אשר משתתף הוא בעניני חב"ד אשר באה"ק ת"ו ועינו טובה גם בשל אחרים להמשיכם (צוציהען זיי) לפעולות ברוח הנ"ל, וגזע צור מחצבתו מסייעתו.

בכבוד ובכפילת תודה ובברכת חנוכה מאיר מתוך בריאות הנכונה.
