You ask me[1] regarding the Likkutei Torah*, at the end of Parshat Kedoshim*, which states that one should engrave in one's memory the five Chumashim* of the Torah of Moshe*. Is it not, in fact, forbidden[2] to recite the verses of the Written Law by heart?
In practice, it is indeed forbidden to recite them; yet it is equally clear that one must strive to engrave the words of the Torah* in one's memory, whether they derive from the Written Law or the Oral Law*. This constitutes, in the present case, a Torah prohibition[3], and you should consult, on this subject, the laws of Torah study of the Admur HaZaken*, chapter 2, paragraphs 3 and 4.
