I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter[1] and may Hashem grant that you bring me good news of its contents.

Indeed, we have just lived through, together with all the people of Israel*, the month of Tishrei*, which has a general significance[2] for the entire year and which is 'the time of the greatest part of our joys'[3]. The end, the conclusion of these festivals[4] is 'the time of our rejoicing,' in particular Shemini Atzeret* and Simchat Torah*, the great joy[5] of the Torah* and its Mitzvot*. The content of this month, having a general significance, must therefore influence each day of the coming year. With my blessing that you bring me good news,

In many situations[6] similar to that of your wife, an increased interest on the part of the husband has strengthened her state of health. Moreover, she herself will feel this addition.

Regarding your questions[7] about the details of your conduct, in particular regarding how to run your home[8] after your marriage, in areas where there are stricter positions and others that are less so, it is clear that not all situations, environments, and persons are identical. According to the words of our Sages*[9], there are the stricter customs of the place one leaves and those of the place one arrives. And the same applies to families. You should therefore consult the local Rabbi* on this matter.

How praiseworthy it is to put into practice the principle: 'you shall sanctify yourself in that which is permitted to you'[10]! Chassidus* explains that in precisely this way one reveals the Essence of Ein Sof*, transcending the light of the Torah*. This is the revelation of the World to Come*, as explained at the end of the Chassidic discourse entitled: 'And you shall be for Me'[11].

I have duly received your letter[12], with the stories of our holy masters[13], in addition to the list of participants in the classes[14]. May Hashem grant that you bring me good news regarding Torah* and Mitzvot*, always and every day.

Among[15] the visitors who came here[16], there were officials from the Ministry of Education in our Holy Land*, may it be restored and rebuilt. They complained about your son, for during his examination they found his knowledge to be insufficient. No doubt you will be able to point this out to him and advise him to make haste to fill the gap through study from books. But your son must not know that a complaint was made to me about him, that goes without saying.

במקרים רבים דומים לזוג' תי' - הוספה בשימת לב הבעל לאשתו מוסיפה בבריאותה וכו'. כמובן - הוספה שתרגיש בה.

לשאלותיו בנוגע לפרטים בהנהגתם ובפרט בהנהגת הבית לאחרי חתונתם בשטומו"צ (באותם הענינים שיש מחמירים ומקילים) - מובן שאין כל הענינים והסביבות והאישים שווים, וכסגנון חז"ל דיש חומרי המקום שהלך משם ושבא לשם (ועד"ז בנוגע למשפחות וכו'). וידבר בכ"ז עם הרב מרא דאתרא.

ומה נפלאת מעלת קדש עצמך במותר לך - שמבואר בדא"ח שעי"ז דוקא נמשך מבחי' עצמות אוא"ס שלמע' מבחי' ותו"א, הגילוי דלעת"ל (סד"ה ואתם תהיו לי, תר"ס).
