I greet you and bless you,
I have received your letter of 2 Tammuz, and the subsequent days, with what was enclosed. I thank you for having taken the trouble to inform me of the details concerning the negotiations taking place between the religious parties in the Holy Land. For the present, the subject of this letter is once again the formation of a technical religious front[2] — that is to say, solely in view of the elections, but which will not be maintained afterward. Indeed, if one were to consider such maintenance, new negotiations would be necessary. At present, the matter is solely one of concentrating the greatest number.[3] Another point, which is also essential: one can genuinely ask whether such a front is desirable, insofar as it will unite the extremes. I enclose a copy of a long letter that I wrote on this subject.[4] I hope that you hold the same position as I do in this matter and that you will act in this domain to the full extent of your means.
May Hashem cause our Torah, Torah of truth, which is a single Torah, to draw together the hearts of the 'singular people on the earth,' toward 'the Eternal, our Hashem, the Eternal is One,' that all may have a single view, fulfilling Hashem's Will with a whole heart. מאשר אני קבלת מכתבו מב' תמוז (ושלאחריו) עםפ המצורף אליו. ות"ח על שימת לבבו להודיעני כל הפרטים בנוגע המשא ומתן שבין המפלגות הדתיות באה"ק ת"ו.
ועל של עתה באתי עוה"פ בנוגע להקמת חזית דתית טכנית, היינו אך ורק בנוגע לבחירות, אבל לא חזית לאחרי זה, שהחזית שלאחרי הבחירות תהי' תלוי' בשקו"ט מחדש ומצב הדברים דלאחר הבחירות, משא"כ עתה שזהו בגדר תפסת מרובה. ועוד וגם זה עיקר, אשר ספק גדול אם רצוי' היא בכלל (באם המדובר בחזית מן הקאה"ק).
ומצורף בזה העתק מכתבי בארוכה על דבר האמור, ותקותי אשר גם כת"ר מסכים לעמדתי בדבר ויעשה בזה כל התלוי בו...
ויהי רצון אשר סוף כל סוף נזכה אשר תורתנו תורת אמת, אשר תורה אחת היא, תקרב את הלבבות דגוי אחד בארץ לה' אלקינו ה' אחד ויהי כולם בדעה אחת (מבלי הצבעה הניתנה לדעת בו"ד) לעשות רצונו בלבב שלם.
