Igrot Kodesh · Letter 9008 — General

By the grace of Hashem,

23 Tammuz 5725,

Brooklyn,

To the leaders of the first synagogue of Kfar Chabad*,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 20 Tammuz, in which you speak of addition and development — above all a qualitative addition. Indeed, I am alluding to the Torah* classes that are given publicly in the synagogue. One knows the explanation of our Sages[1] on the verse: 'The Eternal loves the gates of Zion, above all the sanctuaries of Yaakov.' They say: 'the gates[2] distinguished in Halachah*'.

May Hashem therefore fulfill the words of the verse: 'And all your children will study the Eternal'[3], making them students of Hashem, studying the Torah* of Hashem. Then, there will be great peace in the world[4], for it will multiply, even if the world, Olam*, shares its etymology with Elem*, the veil, as the Chassidus* explains[5]. Thus, hearts will draw ever closer together, peace will be abundant and blessing will be likewise.

Now, it is this abundance that removes the cause of exile[6] and therefore likewise its consequence[7]. From that point, the liberation will be great — it will be the true and complete redemption — and these days[8] will be transformed into joy and rejoicing[9]. With my blessing so that you may give me good news of all this,

והרי ימים אלו מסוגלים וזקוקים ביותר לעניני גמ"ח צדקה, אשר נקודתן אהבת ישראל, לתקן את ההנהגה בעבר, החסרון בנקודה זו - שהייתה, כמבואר מחז"ל (יומא ט, ע"ב), והרי התקון צ"ל באותו ענין עצמו - אהבת חנם, וכשמחלישים ועד שמבטלים אותה הסיבה (ענין האמור במס' יומא שם) הרי בד"מ בטל המסובב,

ויהפכו ימים אלו לששון ולשמחה.
