To the association of women of Brownsville and

East New York, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your information (note 1: See Likkutei Sichos*, volume 8, page 300.) that your dinner, "the meeting (note 2: In English in the original text.) of peace," will take place on Monday of Parshas* Shelach*, this 21 Sivan*. May Hashem make this gathering know great success, in all domains. One of the teachings of Parshas* Shelach* is the following. When the emissaries delegated by Moshe Rabbeinu* for the purpose of scouting Eretz Yisrael* returned and gave a bad report, the women were not affected by it (note 3: According to the commentary of Rashi* on the verse Pinchas* 26:64, based on the Sifri* on verse 27:4.) and they wished to continue, nevertheless, their journey toward Eretz Yisrael*, the Holy Land (note 4: The Rebbe emphasizes the words: "Holy Land."), the country that is the object of particular Hashgachah*, from the beginning to the end of the year.

The bond between Jewish women and the Holy Land is an expression of their attachment to everything that belongs to the domain of holiness, of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, even if such adherence sometimes manifests more strongly among the men. And, a teaching for our generation results from this. The action of women destined to strengthen this domain of holiness, of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, can be significant, first and foremost in their own home, but also in their surroundings, in the appropriate manner. It is in this way that they can forge, in their home and in their environment, a "Holy Land" for the Divine Presence (note 5: See the preceding letter.).

Together with Eretz Yisrael*, all the divine blessings of the "land flowing with milk and honey" were granted, including in the material sense. These are acquired when one adopts conduct in accordance with the Will of Hashem. Thus, these divine blessings are available, at all times, for all those who bring their contribution to strengthen and spread the Yiddishkeit* of the Torah*, to the full extent of their means. May Hashem make your action fruitful, may it progress in this direction in an ever stronger and more developed manner, and may He grant you, yourselves and all your loved ones, the satisfaction of all your needs, in visible and tangible good, both materially and spiritually.
