Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8991 — Faith & Bitachon
Volume 23 · Letter 320 · To: sein du couple.
By the grace of Hashem,
8 Sivan* 5725,
Brooklyn,
I bless you and greet you,
I am responding to your letter of 2 Sivan* (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman.). It seems to me that I have already responded to you previously, on the occasion of your earlier correspondence, but I will reiterate my response once more here. According to the teaching of our Torah*, Torah* of life, "a virtuous woman is one who fulfills the will of her husband" (note 2: According to Tana DeVei Eliyahu* Rabba*, chapter 9.), in particular through daily conduct in accordance with the directives of the Torah*. All the more so is this the case if the question at hand concerns work connected to the education of the sons and daughters of Yisrael*, which is a particularly important accomplishment. It is therefore quite evident that it is wise to accept a position in this field, at least part-time. And, there is no doubt that you will manage to find a proposal, with the appropriate effort, and that you will know success in this matter.
You also tell me that, in your opinion, you are not able to continue living in Kfar* Chabad*. I cannot, however, accept such a statement, for, even if one finds negative elements there, according to what you write, and, in fact, the same must be true in every other place of residence for our world does not know the summit of perfection, it nevertheless remains true that with good will and by adopting the appropriate approach, it is possible to overcome these difficulties. According to the information at my disposal, based on what the residents of the Kfar* write to me, it is certain that you can find friends and close ones there, not only become accustomed to living there, but even derive satisfaction from it, in the full sense of that term. Nevertheless, as with everything that belongs to a person's life, an effort in this direction is necessary and, above all, one must reject the approach that leads you to write: "it will be absolutely impossible to become accustomed" — all the more since your conception is in no way founded on reality.
May Hashem, Who grants His Hashgachah Pratis* to each and every one, guide you toward what will be good for you. Together with your husband, you will continue to reside in Kfar* Chabad*, with true closeness (note 3: Within the couple.). With enthusiasm, you will build an eternal edifice, which will be based on the foundations of the Torah* and its Mitzvos*. In accordance with your (note 4: The Rebbe uses the second person singular at the end of this letter.) request, the present letter is addressed to you by bypassing the queue. With my blessing to give me good news of all this,
