Chabad* school of Moshav* Meitav D.N. Gilboa,

I bless you and greet you,

Your letter has duly reached me and it gave me great pleasure (note 2: See Likkutei Sichos*, vol. 33, p. 234.). May Hashem positively fulfill the wishes of your heart and may you know success in the study of the Torah*, which is called: "Torah* of life," for it is a teaching for daily life, a source of blessing for a truly good life.

You surely know of the festival of Shavuos*, the time of the giving of our Torah* and you must have heard that the Torah* was given only after all the children of Israel proclaimed: "Our children will be our guarantors" (note 3: According to Midrash* Shir HaShirim Rabbah*, chapter 1, paragraph 4.), which includes both boys and girls. This means that it is by the merit of the sons and daughters of Israel that the Torah* was given to our entire people. One can deduce from this how fundamental it is that Jewish children have a conduct based on the Mitzvos* and the directives of the Torah*, above all that they honor their parents and their teachers, that they devote themselves to study with zeal and fervor. I hope that each one of you will set the example of a daughter of Israel, descendant of our Matriarchs, Sarah, Rivkah*, Rachel* and Leah*. With my blessing of success and to give me good tidings,

המכתב שלכן הגיע לידי וגרם לי עונג רב, והשם יתרך ימלא משאלות לבבכן לטובה להצליח בלימוד התורה, הנקראת תורת חיים, כי היא הוראה בחיי היום-יום ומקור הברכה לחיים טובים באמת.

בודאי יודעות אתן על דבר חג השבועות, זמן מתן תורתנו, וגם שמעתן אשר התורה ניתנה רק אחרי שכל ישראל אמרו "בנינו (לרבות בנותינו) ערבים בעדינו". זאת אומרת, שבזכות בני ובנות ישראל ניתנה התורה לכל ישראל. מזה מובן כמה חשוב הוא לילדי ישראל להתנהג על פי מצוות והוראות התורה, ולראש ולראשונה בכיבוד הורים ומורים ובהתמדה ושקידה בלימודים. והנני מקוה שכל אחת מכן תהי' דוגמא חי' של בת ישראל, בת אמותינו שרה רבקה רחל ולאה.
