I bless you and greet you,
I respond to your letter from the conclusion of Shabbos* (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman.), in which you tell me that you have had difficulties studying the content of the talks that constituted the holy Shabbos* discourses. You perceive their general meaning, but not always their specific aspects.
Overall, these talks comprise several parts, for those who study them are divided into several categories, from the standpoint of comprehension of the Torah*. But, in any case, each category can find in them an idea, in accordance with the level of its knowledge, in addition to a general perception of the subject. No doubt it is the same in your case. As you advance in the study of the Torah*, you will understand another part, then yet another. There is no need to study other books in order to be able to understand these talks. That is not the way to proceed. One must, on the contrary, advance, step by step, in the study and comprehension of the Torah*. The essential point is that you must conform to the words of the Admur HaZakein*, in his Laws of Torah* Study, at the end of the first chapter, emphasizing that the study of women must, above all, be centered on concrete action (note 2: According to Tractate* Kiddushin* 40b.), permeated with fear and love of Hashem, as the same reference specifies. במענה למכתבה ממוצש"ק, בו כותבת אודות הקישוים שפגשה בלמדה "תוכן הענינים" המדוברים בשיחות שבת קדש, שמבינה הענין בכללותו אבל לא תמיד לפרטיו.
ובכלל בשיחות האמורות, ישנן כמה חלקים, כיון שהבאים ללימוד זה גם כן שייכים לסוגים שונים בהבנת התורה, אבל בכל אחת מהן - כל סוג יכול למצוא ענין שהבנתו מתאימה לידועותיו נוסף על הבנת כללות הענין, ובטח גם בנוגע אלי' כן הוא, וכשתתקדם בלימוד התורה בודאי תבין עוד חלק ועוד חלק וכו'. ואין ענין ללמוד ספרים בכדי להבין אלו השיחות, כי לא זו הדרך, כי אם להתקדם בלימוד והבנת התורה צעד אחר צעד, ובנקודה העיקרית - שתתאים להוראת רבנו הזקן בהלכות תלמוד תורה סוף פרק ראשון, בנוגע ללימוד התורה של נשים שהשתדלות בהעיקר - שיהי' הלימוד מביא לידי מעשה, חדור יראת השם ואהבת השם (כמובן ג"כ בהלכות ת"ת הנ"ל).
