To the attention of the great Rabbanim* directing the

compilation of the Decisors Otzar HaPoskim*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with delay, your letter in response to my appeal (note 2: This refers to letter no. 8824.) whose purpose was to draw the attention of the Rabbanim* and that of the public to the particularly grave questions raised by the adoption of children. You tell me that you wish to publish these remarks in the Otzar HaPoskim*, given their great importance. My will is to fulfill yours, especially since, according to my information, the situation has worsened, due to the difficulties that arise in this matter. And, it is the same also for the medical treatments to which my letter alluded (note 3: Those of the prostate.).

May Hashem grant that this publication provide the desired benefit. If, as our Sages* say (note 4: In Tractate* Sanhedrin* 37a.), "one who saves a Jewish soul is considered as if he saved the entire world," how much more is this so when one introduces rectification into many Jewish homes. If one draws the attention of the sons and daughters of Israel to the gravity of these questions, I have good hope that one will obtain this rectification, for the heart of Israel is awake, even when: "I sleep in exile" (note 5: According to the Zohar*, vol. 3, p. 95a.), both outer exile and inner exile. I extend to you my respects and my blessing of success in your important work of conferring merit upon the many, through "light: that is the Torah*" (note 6: According to Tractate* Megillah* 16b.). May Hashem grant that each person act in this direction, with: "light, joy, gladness and honor," including in the simple sense of the verse. With my consideration,

באיחור קבלתי מכתבם במענה על פניתי לעורר דעת הרבנים ודעת הקהל בבעיות הכי חמורות הקשורות עם ענין אימוץ ילדים וילדות.

ומה שכותבים שברצונם להדפיס הדברים באוצה"פ כיון שהם בעלי חשיבות מרובה, רצוני כן לעשות רצונם, ובפרט על פי ידיעותי שעוד ניתוסף עליהן - מגודל הפרצה השוררת כעת בשטח האמור, וכן בשטח הטיפולים הרפואיים אודותם מדובר במכתבי הנ"ל.

ויהי רצון אשר הדפסה האמורה תביא תועלת המקווה. ואם בסגנון חכמינו ז"ל המציל נפש אחת מישראל כאילו הציל עולם מלא, על אחת כמה וכמה להביא תיקון בכמה בתי ישראל, שתקותי חזקה שכשיעוררו שימת לב בני ובנות ישראל לחומר בעיות האמורות, הרי לבן של ישראל ער הוא אפילו כשנמצאים בבחינת "אני ישנה בגלותא", גלות מבחוץ וגלות מבפנים, ויבוא הענין על תיקונו.

בכבוד ובברכת הצלחה בפעלם הנעלה לזכות את הרבים באורה זו תורה וכו' ויהי רצון שכל אחד ואחד יעשה בהאמור מתוך אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר גם כפשוטו של מקרא - ובהוקרה.
