To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to

communal needs, crowned with good manners,

Rav* Nissim Becher (note 1: See, regarding him, letter no. 8673.),

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter in due time, then I had detailed news of you from the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to communal needs, filled with eagerness, of multiple accomplishments, Rav* B. E. Gorodetski (note 2: Rav* Binyamin Eliyahu Gorodetski. See, regarding him, letter no. 8758.), who informed me of your particularly important activities to strengthen Yiddishkeit* in your city (note 3: In Istanbul.).

May Hashem grant that these accomplishments for the good of the sons and daughters of Yisrael* protect you, together with your wife, so that you derive true satisfaction from all your children, especially since you surely do not content yourself with what has been obtained until now, but develop it broadly. Now, the assurance has been given to us (note 4: In Tractate* Yoma* 38b.) that one comes to the aid of one who wishes to purify himself, and the clarification of the Alter Rebbe* (note 5: In the Likkutei Torah*, commentaries on Shemini Atzeres*, p. 88b.) is known, according to which this also includes the act of purifying others.

I have charged Rav* Gorodetski to correspond with you, in a detailed manner, on the problems and questions you discussed in person. I pray that the Divine Presence be revealed in the work of our hands, that we all succeed in magnifying and adorning the Torah*, with the appropriate self-sacrifice, the warmth and light of Chassidus*, in serving Hashem with joy and enthusiasm. בעתו נתקבל מכתבו, ולאחרי זה גם פ"ש מפורטת על ידי הרה"ג והרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ בעל מרץ ורב פעלים וכו' הרב רב"א שי' גורודצקי, שמסר לי על דבר פעולותיו הכי כבירות של מר להחזקת היהדות במחנו הט'.

ויהי רצון אשר פעולותיו אלו לטובת בני ובנות ישראל תעמודנה לו אשר ביחד עם זוגתו שתחי' ישבעו נחת אמתי מכל יוצאי חלציהם שיחיו.

ובפרט אשר בודאי אינו מסתפק בהשגים דעד עתה ויוסיף כהנה וכהנה. והובטחנו הבא לטהר (וידוע דיוק רבנו הזקן - ליטהר עצמו ולטהר אחרים) מסייעין אותו.

מלאתי ידי הרב גורודצקי שליט"א לבוא עם כבודו בכתובים בפרטיות באותן הבעיות והענינים שדברו פנים אל פנים. ואני תפלה שתשרה שכינה במעשה ידי כלנו יחד להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה, בהתמסרות הראוי' ובהתלהבות ואור חסידותיים, עבודה מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.
