To the directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod*,

to those of the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* of Rishon LeTzion*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Adar Rishon* (note 1: See Likkutei Sichos*, vol. 26, p. 436.), in which you present to me the proposal of the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of multiple accomplishments and good ways, Rav* Ch. S. (note 2: Rav* Chaim Shaul Brook.) Shlita*, consisting of affiliating the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* of Rishon LeTzion* with the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod* and Kfar Chabad*, which surely means that all these institutions will be strengthened and will develop as a result. May Hashem therefore grant that this affiliation (note 3: See, regarding this, letters no. 8968 and 8977.) know success, in general and regarding this objective, in particular.

Indeed, such are the directive, the hope, and the will of our masters and leaders. It is fitting to broaden the tents of the students of the Yeshivah* and the place where they reside, in an ever-increasing manner, both materially and spiritually, adding, advancing, and illuminating. Great is the merit of such an accomplishment, as well as the immense mercy that is aroused by our masters and leaders, so that the success be even greater, in addition to the blessing and the success that are granted to all those who contribute, or will contribute to these achievements, to those who have strengthened these institutions in the past or who do so at the present time.

Of course, this will also reveal a blessing for the healing of the Chassid*, Rav* Chaim Shaul Shlita*. Without a doubt, when he feels better, he will multiply his actions to develop these institutions, with tenfold energy, in joy and enthusiasm. And, it is quite clear that this strengthening will play an essential role in the unification of these Yeshivos*.

Such is precisely the teaching of the Parshah* of this week, Tetzaveh*, "And you shall command the children of Yisrael*" — the conjunction "and" indicating here a revelation that transcends the chain of the worlds. Moreover, to command, in its etymological sense, also means to bind, to attach. Yisrael* is the anagram of Li Rosh*, "a head for Me," the wisdom of the Torah*, which is its profound dimension. Then, it is said: "And, they shall take for you pure olive oil, crushed for the luminary" — "you" designating here the level of Moshe* that each person carries within him. In fact, the oil is obtained by crushing the olive, that is to say by repelling evil. It is pure when it is the first oil, as it is said: "all that is fat (note 4: The Rebbe* underlines "all that is fat.") is for Hashem." What is "crushed" evokes submission, through which one attains the luminary of the Torah*, enabling one to attach oneself to the Holy One, blessed be He, at a stage that is called "Luminary." Thanks to this, "Aharon* shall arrange it" and one will experience the joy of the Mitzvah*, which will be "an immutable Decree," stable and eternal, as Chassidus* explains (note 5: See the Torah Or* on this verse.). With my blessing and in anticipation of good tidings of all this,

במענה למכתבם מראש חדש אדר ראשון, בו כותבים ע"ד הצעת הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ רב פעלים ובעל מדות הרח"ש שליט"א, למזג ישיבת אחי תמימים דראשון לציון עם ישיבת תומכי תמימים דלוד וכפר חב"ד.

ובודאי הכוונה בהאמור, שעי"ז יתוסף בביסוס ישיבות אלו, וגם בהתפשטותם,

ויהי רצון שיהי' המיזוג בהצלחה בכלל, ובהצלחת מטרה האמורה במיוחד,

שהרי היא היא פקודת ותקות ורצון רבותינו נשיאינו, להרחיב אהלי התמימים ומשכנותם, באופן דמוסיף והולך בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד, מוסיף והולך ואור.

וגדול זכות הענין והתעוררות ר"ר של רבותינו נשיאינו, להוסיף בהצלחת כל האמור, נוסף על הברכה וההצלחה דכל אלו שישתתפו בזה בהווה ובעתיד, וכל אלו שעשו בביסוס מוסדות אלו בעבר ועד עתה.

וכמובן ופשוט - להמשכת ברכת רפואה להרה"ח וכו' וכו' הר"ר חיים שאול שליט"א, שבודאי כשיתחזק בבריאותו יתחזק בפעולות לביסוס מוסדות האמורים ועוד בתוספת מרץ, מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב, אשר כמובן גם חיזוק זה עיקר במיזוג האמור.

והרי כ"ז כהוראת פרשת שבוע זה:

ואתה (בתוספת וא"ו, המשכה מלמעלה מהשתלשלות) תצוה (מלשון צוותא

והתקשרות) את בני ישראל (לי ראש, היא בחי' חכמה (שבתורה הוא ענין פנימיות התורה)) ויקחו אליך (לבחי' משה שבכ"א) שמן זית (הבא ע"י כתישתו, אתכפיא וכו') זך (ראשון שבשמנים, כמ"ש כל חלב לה', וע"י) כתית (ביטול - מגיעים) למאור (של תורה, ועי"ז מתקשרים בקוב"ה בבחי' הנקראת מאור, ומזה נמשך להיות, ד)יערוך אותו אהרן (שמחה של מצוה, ובאופן ד)חקת עולם (דבר של קיימא ונצחי) כמבואר בדא"ח.
