By the grace of Hashem,

To the attention of Mr. Mordechai Ish Shalom,

Mayor of Yerushalayim*, may it be restored and

rebuilt, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I thank you for your greetings, which you addressed to me through Rav* Nachum Rabinovitch, and, in particular, for having thought of the Chassidic* gathering of the Hilulah*, for having shown your interest by participating in it. Moreover, I take this opportunity to express to you my gratitude for the help you have provided, until now, to the institutions of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in the holy city of Yerushalayim*, may it be restored and rebuilt. I hope that you will do so again in the future and even in a much broader manner. You must know better than I to what extent these institutions are indispensable. Now, they sustain themselves thanks to the support of all those who dwell in this city and, in particular, of its mayor. With my respects and my blessing,
