All this (note 1: See Likkutei Sichos*, vol. 11, p. 198.) will know (note 2: This letter was addressed to Rav* Shmuel HaKohen Kahanov and was written on his correspondence dated 24 Teves* 5725. See, regarding him, letter no. 1099.) great success (note 3: Rav* Kahanov informed the Rebbe* that students of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch* had received their Shochet* diploma on this 24 Teves*.) and one confers a merit to a day that is, by nature, auspicious (note 4: According to Tractate* Taanis* 29a.). In this way, one obtains purification and sanctification not only for oneself, but also for the entire household (note 5: The Rebbe* underlines the words: "household" and "consult."), according to the expression of Tractate* Chullin* 27a. And, one will consult (note 5), on this subject, the explanation of the Kreisi UPleisi*, at the end of chapter 11, according to which, in our days, there is no risk in performing the Shechitah* of a goose in Teves*.

This auspicious day is, in this case, the Hilulah* of the Alter Rebbe*, whose teaching, which is also a strength granted (note 6: To put it into practice.), emphasizes that a Shochet* must have a particularly profound fear of Hashem, fully rely on His Word, and be upright in his spirit, as he states in his laws of Shechitah*, chapter 1, paragraph 2. And, one finds an analysis, on this subject, in the responsa of the Tzemach Tzedek*, Yoreh Deah*, chapter 12.

ויהא כהנ"ל בהצלחה רבה ומגלגלים זכות (טהרה ודכויי - ולא רק בנוגע לעצמו - (תחטאיני) - כ"א גם - וחיטא את הבית חולין כ"ז רע"א) ליום זכאי ( ולהעיר ממש"כ בכו"פ סו"ס י"א שבזמנינו אין לחוש אפילו לשחוט אווז בטבת) - הילולא דאדה"ז שהוראתו היינו נתינת כח - ששו"ב ה"ה יר"ש ביותר וחרד על דבר ה' שלם בדעתו וכו' (הל' שחיטה ס"א סק"ב, ושקו"ט בשו"ת צ"צ יו"ד סי"ב).
