Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8915 — Chinuch

Volume 23 · Letter 241

By the grace of Hashem, the days between (note 1: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "See the talk of 10 Kislev* 5707, in the Likkutei Dibburim*, at page 976.") 10 and 19 Kislev* 5725,

Brooklyn, New York,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter (note 2: This letter was addressed to several people. See Likkutei Sichos*, vol. 10, p. 221, as well as letters no. 8709 and 8728.). We are currently between the liberation of the Admur HaEmtzai* and that of the Alter Rebbe*. These two dates have become celebrations, festivals, for the generations that follow them, for eternity. The liberation and its content are linked to the words of Dovid*, king of Yisrael*, which he pronounced in the name of every Jew: "He has redeemed my soul in peace, in the battle waged against me, for they were many with me."

Commenting on this verse, our Sages* teach (note 3: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "Tractate* Berachos* 8a.") that: "The Holy One, blessed be He, says: I consider one who devotes himself to the Torah* and to good deeds, who prays with the congregation, as if he had redeemed Me, together with My children, from among the nations of the world." May Hashem therefore grant that each person, within all of Yisrael*, strengthen himself in these three domains (note 4: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "See the commentary of the Maharsha*, at that reference, and the Reshimos* of the Tzemach Tzedek* on the Tehillim*, at that reference, regarding verse 55:19.") — the study of the Torah*, good deeds and the Mitzvos* in general (note 5: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "Indeed, all the Mitzvos*, in general, are a form of Tzedakah*, as explained, in particular, by the Torah Or*, at page 63c."), and fervent prayer — which will be illuminated by the clarity of the teaching of the Alter Rebbe* and the Admur HaEmtzai*, that of Chassidus*.

All this will be accomplished while being liberated from all obstacles and all impediments, advancing and illuminating in each of these points, until our complete and true deliverance through our righteous Moshiach*, very soon and in our days. With my blessing on the occasion of the festival of liberation, as well as to give me good tidings, in general and more specifically,

M. Schneerson,
