The expression (note 1: This letter is addressed to Rav Shneur Zalman HaLevi Duchman and was written on his correspondence of 18 Elul 5724. See, regarding him, the preceding letter.): "My (note 2: Rav Duchman wrote to the Rebbe*: "I enclose for the Rebbe* the list of participants in the study of this Sunday. I would very much like to know the meaning of the expression used by the Rebbe* Shlita*, 'wondrous words.' Ordinarily, one speaks of 'holy words' and this term was therefore surely used here for a specific reason." See, regarding this, the preceding letter.) masters (note 3: In the text of the Alter Rebbe*. The Rebbe* underlines the words: "My masters" and "surpasses.")," whom one must revere, refers to the Maggid* (note 4: Of Mezritch*.) and the Baal Shem Tov* (note 5: See, regarding this, Sefer HaSichos* 5704, p. 98 and Sefer HaSichos* 5705, p. 59.). The revelation "without limit and without end" (note 6: Of which it is a question at this reference of Igeres HaKodesh*, p. 136b.) is precisely obtained through the presence of ten people. Thus, that which surpasses (note 3) the ten is connected to Keser*, the crown that surmounts the chain of worlds, which is "wondrous" inasmuch as it transcends understanding, which is connected to holiness. Moreover, it is a matter, in this instance, of also convincing the animal soul*, which is easier through wondrous words than through holy words.
