I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 15 Menachem* Av*, in which you speak to me about your daughter. From what you write, it seems that specialist physicians have been consulted and, without a doubt, you are following their prescriptions. Indeed, a person must do everything in his power to act according to the ways of nature (note 1: To obtain the healing.). At a propitious moment, your names will therefore be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, so that you obtain the satisfaction of all your needs.

Your work involves the education of the children of Yisrael* and I therefore have good hope that you instill in your students the fear and love of Hashem, which lead (note 2: See chapter 4 of the Tanya*.) to the practice of the Positive Commandments and the Prohibitions. You will therefore continue to do so, even more intensely. And this great merit will protect you, so that you obtain the satisfaction of your needs and that the wishes of your heart be positively fulfilled. Moreover, one knows the saying of the Baal Shem Tov* (note 3: See, regarding this, letters no. 8317, 8903, and 8962.) according to which the love that Hashem feels for each Jew is infinitely more intense than that of elderly parents for their only child, born when they had already reached old age.

It would be wise to have your Tefillin* checked, as well as the Mezuzos* of your home, to ensure that they conform to Halachah*. Your wife will maintain the favorable practice of the virtuous daughters of Yisrael* who set aside Tzedakah* before the lighting of the candles, on the eve of Shabbos* and the festivals. With my respects and my blessing to give me good tidings of all this,

וע"פ כתבו כנראה ששואלים דעת רופאים מומחים, ובטח ממלאים ההוראות שלהם, שהרי על האדם לעשות התלוי בו בדרך הטבע.

בעת רצון יזכירום על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להמצטרך להם.

וכיון שמשרתו בחינוך בני ישראל, התקוה שמחדיר בתלמידיו יראת ה' ואהבת ה' המביאים לידי קיום מצות עשה ומצות לא תעשה, ועוד יוסיף בזה.

וגדול זכות האמור לעמוד לו בהמצטרך לו ולמילוי משאלות לבבו לטובה.

ובפרט ע"פ הידוע פתגם הבעל שם טוב, אשר אהבת השם לכל אחד מבני ישראל הוא באין ערוך יותר מאהבת הורים זקנים לבן יחידם שנולד להם לעת זקנותם.

ומהנכון אשר יבדקו את התפילין שלו וכן את המזוזות בדירתם שתהיינה כולן כשרות כדין, וזוגתו תחי' תשמור על מנהגן הטוב של בנות ישראל הכשרות להפריש לצדקה קודם הדלקת הנרות בכל ערב שבת וערב יום טוב.
