Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8873 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,

14 Menachem* Av* 5724,

Brooklyn,

I bless you and greet you,

I have duly received your letters (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman.), with your request for a blessing* which will be read, at a propitious moment, near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. May Hashem grant that you announce good tidings to me regarding its content, as well as that of all your letters.

Moreover, the first days of this month of Menachem* Av* have now passed and we have therefore entered the period of consolation, which includes the month of Elul*, that of mercy, the immense mercy of the Creator of man, Who grants him His Providence* with vigilance and benevolence. Hashem nourishes and satisfies all needs, material and spiritual, through the Light of the Countenance of the King of life, the Supreme King, as well as all the needs of life. Now, as the holy Zohar* explains (note 2: Vol. 1, p. 29b.), "the lower world is in the image of the upper world" and, consequently, it is the light of the face of man, here below, that draws down blessing and salvation from the heavenly world. With my blessing to give me good tidings of all this,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבי' עם הפ"נ שיקראו בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ויהי רצון שתבשר טוב בתוכנו וכן בתוכן מכתבי'.

ובפרט אשר יצאנו כבר מימים הראשונים דחדש מנ"א ונכנסנו לימי הנחמה ומהם לחדש אלול חדש הרחמים רחמיו המרובים של יוצר האדם ומשגיח עליו בעין פקיחה ועין טובה וזן ומפרנס כל צרכיו הן בגשם והן ברוח ובאור פני מלך (מה"מ) חיים, (וכל צרכי החיים) וע"פ המבואר בזהר הק' עלמא עילאה כגוונא דעלמא תתאה, ואור פני האדם למטה ממשיך אור ברכה וישועה מעולם העליון.
