To the young Avraham,

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 27 Sivan*. We are in the days of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, dates of the deliverance of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Yisrael*, which is also ours. You surely have knowledge of the self-sacrificing work accomplished by the one whose joy and deliverance we celebrate, of his sacred mission destined to disseminate the revealed part of the Torah* and Chassidus*, in a ceaselessly increasing manner.

I have good hope that you will draw from the history of this period a lesson in conformity with the principle (note 1: Of tractate Avos*, chapter 1, at Mishnah* 17) according to which: "the deed is essential," that you will redouble enthusiasm and ardor in the study of the Torah*, of its revealed part and of Chassidus* (note 2: The addressee of the present is apparently a student of the Yeshivah*). Of course, this study must lead to action, in conformity with the teaching of our Sages (note 3: In tractate Kiddushin* 40b), that is to say to the practice of the Mitzvos* in the best way. You surely have knowledge of the three daily studies that concern each person, bearing on the Chumash*, the Tehillim* and the Tanya*. You observe them or, at least, you will do so in the future. With my blessing to give me good news of all of this,

Regarding the book about which you ask me (note 4: This is a book entitled: "The Calculations of the Deliverance"), its author testifies that it goes against our masters, those of the revealed part of the Torah* as well as those of its profound teaching, and this is indeed the case (note 5: The Rebbe* underlines the words: "this is indeed the case").

ובעמדנו בימי י"ב-י"ג תמוז, גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל, שהיא גם גאולתנו.

שבודאי ידוע לו אודות העבודה במסירת נפש של בעל השמחה והגאולה, עבודה קדושה בהפצת התורה הנגלה והחסידות, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך.

התקוה אשר ילמוד מפרשת ימים אלו לקח המתאים והמעשה עיקר - להוסיף בהתמדה ושקידה בלימוד התורה, לימוד הנגלה ולימוד החסידות, ומובן שצריך להיות - כהוראת חז"ל - באופן שהלימוד יביא לידי מעשה, הידור בקיום המצות.

בטח יודע משלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש בחומש תהלים ותניא ושומר עליהם, ועכ"פ יעשה כן מכאן ולהבא.
