Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8828 — Faith & Bitachon
Volume 23 · Letter 152 · [Iyar 5724]
(Iyar* 5724)
One can (note 1: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 16, at page 615) truly (note 2: This letter is addressed to the Rav Shmuel Pesach Bogomilski. See, regarding him, letter no. 8795) wonder (note 3: Following up on letter no. 8802, the Rav Bogomilski asked the Rebbe* if it was sufficient to provide, in a synagogue, an empty space occupying the place of a row of seated persons between the Torah* reading table and the holy ark) whether such a separation will be maintained. Can one say in such a case, even a posteriori, that the reading table is situated in the middle of the synagogue? It is not the same, on the other hand, if there is, at that place, at least one row of persons actually seated. And, sometimes, the middle excludes the extremities, as one sees proof thereof in tractate Terumos*, chapter 3, at paragraph 5. One will also consult the Tziyun Yerushalayim*, at this reference.
