By the grace of Hashem,

To the assembly of the faithful of the synagogue Adas Yisrael*, of the

rite of the Ari*, in Manchester, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of this Wednesday (note 1: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 24, at page 409), which was drafted by your leaders, distinguished Chassidim* who fear Hashem, of multiple accomplishments, Mr. Shimon Pottach and Mr. A. Grunswald. At a propitious moment, it will be read near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, leader of Yisrael*, so that he invoke an immense mercy for each one of you, as well as for the members of your family, to whom Hashem will grant long days and good years.

May Hashem grant you the success of completing the construction of the additional building of your synagogue, about which you write to me. And, the essential point, that one add places for those who come to pray and for those who listen to the teaching of our holy Torah*. It is certain that this will also increase the blessing of Hashem, Who "nourishes and sustains all, in His goodness, with grace and mercy" (note 2: According to the text of the Grace after Meals). In this way, all needs will be satisfied, both spiritual and material, for Hashem gives the Torah* and its Mitzvos*. Now, "the study of the Torah* surpasses all other Precepts" (note 3: Tractate Peah*, chapter 1, at Mishnah* 1).

Moreover, we are in the period of the Omer* and, immediately after the blessing (note 4: Preceding the counting of the Omer*), we ask: "He Who is merciful, may He restore the service of the Beis HaMikdash* to its place, very soon and in our days." Then will also be fulfilled the promise (note 5: In tractate Megillah* 29a) according to which the synagogues and the houses of study of the exiles will be established in Eretz Yisrael*, since one studies the Torah* there and disseminates it. With my respects and my blessing to give me good news of all of this,

להתעוררות רחמים רבים על כל אחד ואחד ומשפחותיהם שליט"א.

ויהי רצון שחפץ ה' בידם יצליח לגמור ההוספה בבנין דבית הכנסת שלהם, אודותו כותבים.

ועוד ועיקר שיתוספו ספסלי הן הבאים לעבודת התפלה והן הבאים לשמוע בלימודי תורתנו הקדשה.

אשר בודאי עי"ז יתוסף ג"כ בברכת השם, שהוא הזן ומפרנס לכל בטובו בחן בחסד וברחמים, פרנסה בכל המצטרך הן ברוחניות והן בגשמיות, והוא נותן התורה ומצותי' אשר תלמוד תורה כנגד כולם.

ובפרט אשר נמצאים אנו בימי הספירה, אשר תיכף לברכה לספירה

מבקשים - הרחמן הוא יחזיר לנו עבודת בית המקדש למקומה, במהרה בימינו, אשר אז יקוים גם היעוד, בתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות שבגליות יקבעו בארץ ישראל, כיון שקוראים ומרביצים בהם תורה.
