To the attention of Mr. Moshe Aram (note 1: See, regarding him, letter no. 8386),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned, these days, that you have been elected to new functions with the Jewish Agency. Now, everything is the effect of Divine Providence and every appointment offers new possibilities, which constitutes, moreover, an increased responsibility. I would therefore like to express to you my wish and my blessing that you fully seize these new opportunities, in addition to those that you already possessed beforehand, as we spoke about during our discussion, when we met, since you disseminate the eternal values of our people, the children of Yisrael*, which we have possessed since we became a nation, near Mount Sinai*.

Moreover, one can concretely verify that these values are, precisely, the secret of the perpetuity of our people, the sons and daughters of Yisrael*, even though we are the minority among the nations, even though "the benevolence of the nations is a sin" (note 2: Despite the unfavorable context). Our generation has been able to see this, which is a firebrand saved from the Shoah* and the persecutions the like of which have not been seen. All the peoples, enlightened or not, remained impassive. Indeed, we can entrust ourselves only to our Father Who is in heaven, the living Elokim* Who gives the Torah* of life and its Mitzvos* of which it is said: "One shall live by them."

You were elected unanimously, which further develops your influence and your possibilities. May Hashem cause that you succeed in putting them to good use. And, on the occasion of the festival of Matzos*, time of our freedom, which approaches for us and for all of Yisrael*, for good, I address to you, herewith, my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival, for a true freedom, deliverance from all troubles, material and spiritual. And, you will extend this freedom and this joy over the entire year. With my blessing on the occasion of the festival,

I have the pleasant obligation to express to you once more my gratitude for the interest that you manifest for what concerns Kfar Chabad*. Without doubt, you will continue, in the future, to bring it your assistance, if the need arises. Another point, which is essential — you will inform yourself of what is being done there, not only through what is related to you, but also through what you will observe yourself, on the occasion of a visit.

שלום וברכה!

ימים אלו נודעתי ע"ד בחירת כ' למשרתו החדשה בסוכנות וכו', וכיון שכל ענין הוא בהשגחה פרטית וכל מינוי נותן אפשרויות חדשות ומתוך כך גם אחריות נוספת, אביע תקותי וברכתי שכ' ינצל במילואן האפשרויות החדשות שנתוספו לו על הקודמות - וכמו שדברנו בשיחתנו בעת פגישתנו - להפצת הערכים הנצחיים של עמנו בני ישראל מיום היותנו לעם במעמד הר סיני.

ובפרט שרואים במוחש שדוקא ערכים אלו הם סוד קיומו הנצחי של עמנו בני ובנות ישראל, למרות אשר אנחנו המעט בין העמים, וחסד לאומים חטאת, וכמו שנוכח דורנו אוד מוצל מהשואה ושמדות שלא היו כמותן היל"ת, וכל האומות הנאורות ובלתי נאורות עמדו מנגד וכו', אשר אין לנו להשען אלא על אבינו שבשמים, אלקים חיים הנותן לנו תורת חיים ומצותי' עליהן נאמר וחי בהם.

וכיון שנבחר כ' פה אחד, הרי זה מגדיל עוד יותר כח השפעתו ואפשריותו, ויהי רצון שיצליח להוציאן מן הכח אל הפועל הנ"ל.

ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח, ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בכל ימי השנה.

וכאן עלי חובה נעימה להביע עוה"פ תודתי למר עבור התענינותו בעניני כפר חב"ד, אשר בודאי גם להבא יושיט להם עזרתו באם יוזקקו לה, ועוד וגם זה עיקר, שיתענין בהנעשה שם ולא רק על ידי שמיעה אלא גם על ידי ראי' וביקור וכו'.
