One (note 1: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 9, at page 331) did not include (note 2: This letter is addressed to the Rav Pesach Bogomilski. See, regarding him, letters no. 7248, 8802, 8828, 8875 and 8941) (note 3: The Rav Bogomilski asked the Rebbe* if he could fix the date of his marriage on the eve of the first day of Rosh Chodesh*, when the new moon did not reappear until the following day) the hours in the count of the months (note 4: According to tractate Megillah* 5a and the Rambam*, laws of the sanctification of the new month, chapter 8, at paragraph 1), when one offered the sacrifice of Rosh Chodesh* in the Beis HaMikdash*, even though one relied then on the actual reappearance of the moon, which is no longer the case in our era, since at the present time, one establishes, on the basis of calculation, the average time of this reappearance, as the Rambam* specifies (note 5: Laws of the sanctification of the new month, chapter 6, at paragraph 1). The location (note 6: The Rebbe* underlines the words: "the location," "already" and "several") of this reappearance (note 7: According to the laws of the sanctification of the new month, chapter 11, at paragraph 17), when concretely the moon is still veiled, is the Holy Land* and the regions close to it. It is not the same for the United States (note 8: Where the marriage of the Rav Bogomilski was to take place), where, at that moment, the moon is already (note 6) hidden for several (note 6) hours already.

אי אתה מחשב שעות לחדשים ומקריבין קרבן ר"ח בביהמ"ק כו' - אע"פ שהמולד אז אמתי (משא"כ בימינו שע"פ החשבון - רק אמצעי - כדאיתא ברמב"ם) ומקום המולד (שנכסית הלבנה בפועל) הוא באה"ק וסמיכות שלה (משא"כ בארצה"ב - שהוא כבר כו"כ שעות לאחרי שנכסית כו').
