By the grace of Hashem,

17 Adar* 5724,

To Mr. Matisyahu (note 1: M. Seiger, of Haifa),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of the 10th of Adar* (note 2: Requesting a blessing). At a propitious moment, the name of your mother and yours will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us. May Hashem cause that you give me good news of the content of this letter, all the more so since, according to what you write to me, you are a descendant of the author of the Tanya*. Indeed, he who rests in this holy resting place, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, is his great-grandson and his successor as chief of Yisrael*.

Based on what has just been said, I have good hope that you have a fixed time for the study of the teaching delivered by the author of the Tanya*, which is Chassidus* Chabad*, every day and, in an increased manner, during the Shabbos* which is holy for Hashem. To someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to explain at length to what extent this is necessary. With my respects and my blessing to give me good news,

בעת רצון יזכירו את אמו תחי' ואותו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מתאים לתוכן כתבו, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בתוכנו,

ובפרט שככתבו נמנה הוא על צאצאי בעל התניא אשר בעל הציון הק' כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, נינו ומ"מ בתור נשיא ישראל.

וע"פ האמור התקוה חזקה שיש לו קביעות לימוד בתורת בעל התניא היא תורת חסידות חב"ד בכל יום ובהוספה ביום השבת אשר קדש הוא לה', ובודאי לדכוותי' ההכרח בזה אין דורש אריכות.
